Introduction

IP Filter Exchange respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our Chrome extension.

Compliance with Google Policies

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. > Our extension only accesses necessary browser permissions to provide proxy connectivity and does not share or sell any user data to third parties.

Zero Data Collection

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data, browsing history, or proxy credentials to any external servers. Your privacy is our top priority, and we have designed our extension to operate entirely locally on your device.

Local Storage Only

All settings and proxy configurations are stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API. This data never leaves your browser and remains completely under your control. We cannot access, view, or retrieve any of your stored information.

No Tracking

We do not use analytics services, cookies, or any tracking mechanisms whatsoever. Your activity while using IP Filter Exchange is completely private and not monitored in any way.

Proxy Credentials

Your proxy username and password are stored locally in your browser's secure storage. These credentials are only used to authenticate with your chosen proxy server and are never transmitted to us or any third-party service.

Timezone Detection

When using the 'Based on Proxy' timezone setting, the extension queries public IP geolocation APIs to detect your proxy's timezone and location. This request is made directly from your browser to these public services:

  • ipapi.co
  • ip-api.com
  • ipwho.is

These services receive only your proxy's IP address (not your real IP) and respond with timezone and location information. We do not control these services or their privacy practices.

Third-Party Services

The extension may connect to the following public IP geolocation services solely for timezone detection purposes:

  • ipapi.co: Used to detect timezone from proxy IP
  • ip-api.com: Fallback timezone detection service
  • ipwho.is: Additional fallback timezone detection service

These services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

Data Security

Your data is as secure as your browser's local storage mechanism. We recommend:

  • Using strong device passwords
  • Keeping your browser updated to the latest version
  • Using reputable security software on your device
  • Being cautious about who has physical access to your device

Data Deletion

You can delete all stored data at any time by:

  • Clicking the "Disconnect" button in the extension
  • Using the "Clear All Cache & Data" button in Settings
  • Removing the extension from your browser

All locally stored data will be immediately and permanently deleted from your device.

Children's Privacy

Our extension is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted within the extension and on this page. Your continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, there is no data for us to provide, modify, or delete. You have complete control over all data stored locally on your device.
